Today we cycled from Troy, NY to Brattleboro, VT, marking our entry into our 14th state! It was a challenging 81 miles with nearly 5000 feet of elevation, all in 95-degree weather. It was hotter than hades out there! Many of us resorted to putting ice packs on our necks as we pedaled through the intense heat.

The ride, though tough, was incredibly scenic. We passed through charming covered bridges, admired beautiful waterfalls, and took in the stunning mountain views. Despite the grueling conditions, the beauty of the journey kept us motivated.

Today was also a reflective day as we supported our dear rider, Carol from Maryland, who lost her husband a year ago on June 20th. To cheer her up, we bought her a bouquet of flowers and a card. It’s moments like these that remind us of the strong bond and support within our cycling community.
