Today we cycled 102 miles in scorching 95-104 degree weather. We set off at 6:45am, with somewhat overcast skies until we reached the Erie Canal Trail. The last 20 miles were a refreshing change as we rode on the Mohawk Hudson Bikeway, providing a much-needed break from cycling beside cars. Along the way, we passed the iconic Uncle Sam statue in Troy, New York, a fitting reminder of the American spirit.

Upon arriving at our hotel, I was thrilled to be greeted by my long-time friend from St. Clairsville, Jennifer Christy. Despite the intense heat, we celebrated our journey at the second SAG stop and later headed to dinner overlooking the Hudson River, reflecting on our incredible day.
