As we left Wooster, cycling 93 miles to Niles, Ohio, we were met with fog and 58-degree weather. The day remained chilly but invigorating, with hills once again testing our determination and resilience. Along the way, we passed dairy farms, fields of sheep and cows, and unique garages that dotted the countryside.

Our SAG stop at Deerfield Township Memorial Park was a moving experience, honoring veterans from all wars. It was striking to see the number of veterans from this small town, a reminder of the sacrifices made by so many.

Crossing over Berlin Lake, we enjoyed the scenic views before finally ending up on a 12-mile Rails to Trails path. Free from traffic, this stretch was a true pleasure to ride, offering a peaceful and enjoyable end to our day.

I can imagine getting to use a Rails to Trails was a relief. What an excellent idea – to switch the unused rails into trails! I’m busy working on our flower show this Saturday. pedal on!
